NICOLAS MICHAUX HARVESTERS

‘Harvesters’ is the latest offering from multi-instrumentalist Nicolas Michaux. The track from the Belgian singer-songwriter is built on warmth and innocence, with a Syd Barrett vibe resonating from the airy guitar chords. He furthers the (possibly unintentional) connection to Pink Floyd through the pastoral imagery and use of the sun found in both his lyrics and the music video, directed by Michaux and Alessandro Bertoncini. He explains the background of the track and its video: “Harvesters is the first song I wrote after arriving on Samsø, the Island where I reside with my girlfriend and our daughter. It was two years ago; springtime was burgeoning and I could feel a great relief being able to put my suitcases down after a few years of traveling; I was tired but was hoping for recovery and was determined to live a more simple life." His modern, psychedelic take on folk music translates well to the stage, with well over a hundred live dates each year taking up most of his schedule. Be sure to check him out live when the pandemic has passed. - Dan Peeke
